Tereza Theodoulou

Lead Lecturer - Choreographer - Syllabus Creator - ISTD Senior Examiner 

Tereza began her training with Joy Spriggs in North London, achieving Fellowship status with Distinction in both Modern and Tap. In America she studied at the Alvin Ailey School and further explored the rich diversity of Jazz and Tap at various studios in New York. 

As a co-founder and choreographer of her own company called Overtures, Tereza created and performed in numerous productions. She has also worked with the British Theatre for the Deaf, culminating in a workshop presentation of My Fair Lady at the Edinburgh Festival. 

Her previous college teaching experiences include Head of Modern Dance at London College Bedford and teaching Modern and Jazz at Laine Theatre Arts, Bird College and Deborah Capon. She is also a freelance tutor for status exams up to Fellowship level and frequently examines and teaches abroad. 

Tereza is a member of the creative teams that have developed the Jazz Awards, Grades 4, 5 and 6 Modern and the Bronze, Silver and Gold Tap Awards, and the creation of the new Advanced 2 Modern Syllabus. As well as being Chair of the Modern Theatre Faculty, she is a senior examiner for the Modern Theatre and Tap Faculties.

Imperial Ballet - Nicola Hilton 
B.Phil. (Hons), LRAD, ARAD, FISTD (MT, ICB) Examiner

Nicola graduated from the Royal Academy of Dance, Teachers’ Training Course followed by the London Studio Centre, Dancers’ Course.  Later in her career she gained a Bachelor of Philosophy degree in Ballet and Contextual Studies from the University of Durham and is a qualified Pilates Instructor. Nicola holds Fellowship in Imperial Classical Ballet and Modern Theatre.

Nicola has had an extensive and varied career and is a highly respected dance teacher with over forty years teaching experience. She was Principal of her own extremely successful dance studio for twenty-five years and taught at several vocational colleges including the Royal Academy of Dance, achieving Head of Classical Ballet and Head of Modern Dance.  

Nicola was the original personal mentor for the ISTD Level 6 Diploma in Dance Pedagogy in Classical Ballet and continued in this role for a number of years.  She is an approved tutor for all DDE units and specialises in tutoring Imperial Ballet Vocational level and status teaching examinations. Nicola is an ISTD Imperial Ballet Grade and Vocational Examiner having previously examined for the RAD and is a regular adjudicator for the annual Imperial Ballet Junior and Senior Awards.
